#Change11 Fight for the truth

What is your life lesson?  Here is the live blog of Daniel Shechtman, this year’s Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry where you will find his story.

His discovery was extremely controversial. In the course of defending his findings, he was asked to leave his research group. However, his battle eventually forced scientists to reconsider their conception of the very nature of matter.

I am particularly impressed with Daniel’s experience, where he was asked to leave his research group, and was treated with skepticism about his discovery. Then he eventually succeeded in publishing his discovery.  Now he is awarded with the Nobel Prize for his great discovery.

Daniel states: If you are a scientist and believing in your results, then fight for them, fight for the truth, and fight for what you believe in.

  2. this is actually a disgrace to the scientific community at large, and especially to those who shunned him. not only should there be public apologies, but it seems to me some people should be fired, since they are on the public dole “seeking truth,” but made incompetent to do so because of their own prejudices and ambition.
